Gram-negative bacteria possess a complex outer membrane that makes them resistant to many antibiotics. Nutraferon AZANEM targets only aerobic Gram-negative bacteria while sparing beneficial Gram-positive and anaerobic gut bacteria, helping preserve normal flora unless broader combination therapy is needed.

Because Aztreonam is a monobactam with a single-ring structure, it displays negligible cross-reactivity with penicillins and most cephalosporins. However, because Aztreonam shares an identical R1 side chain with Ceftazidime, caution is required in patients with a documented severe hypersensitivity specifically to Ceftazidime.
