Nutraferon I-TEN+ Injection – Overview
Nutraferon I-TEN+ Injection is a third-generation, dextran-free parenteral iron replacement therapy formulated with Ferric Carboxymaltose (delivering 50 mg of elemental iron per mL; typically 500 mg / 10 mL or 1000 mg / 20 mL single-use vial). It is clinically indicated to treat Iron Deficiency Anaemia (IDA)—a condition in which insufficient body iron stores lead to reduced red blood cell production and impaired systemic oxygen transport—as well as Anaemia due to Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD).
Engineered for gynaecology and obstetrics, nephrology, gastroenterology, oncology, and internal medicine, Nutraferon I-TEN+ Injection is prescribed when oral iron preparations are ineffective, poorly tolerated, or blocked by intestinal malabsorption and elevated hepcidin, or when there is a clinical need to deliver iron rapidly. Unlike older parenteral iron sucrose formulations (20 mg/mL) that require multiple low-dose visits, the stable macromolecular ferric hydroxide–carboxymaltose shell of Nutraferon I-TEN+ prevents premature release of free labile iron in the bloodstream—enabling a high single dose (up to 1000 mg of elemental iron) to be administered in a single 15-minute intravenous infusion.
