Nutraferon PROVOTIN HP POWDER 400GM

Before dialysis (Stages 3–4), protein is restricted (`61-Nutraferon PROVOTIN LP POWDER`) to reduce urea buildup. Once maintenance haemodialysis or peritoneal dialysis begins, the dialysis filter removes waste—but also strips out essential amino acids and peptides. Dialysis patients require higher protein intake (~1.2 g/kg/day) via Provotin HP to prevent severe muscle wasting and hypoalbuminemia.

It can be pumped through a ≥10 Fr enteral feeding tube. However, never mix liquid or crushed medications directly into the protein formula, as they cause protein coagulation and clog the tube; always flush the tube with water before and after giving medications separately.

Anuric or oliguric dialysis patients have strict daily fluid allowances (often 500–1000 mL/day plus urine output). Reconstituting 35 g of powder in just 85 mL of water delivers concentrated protein without causing interdialytic weight gain or fluid overload.

Non-dialysis CKD patients should NOT use Provotin HP unless specifically instructed for acute hypercatabolism (they normally use low-protein `Provotin LP`). Additionally, because the protein base is Whey and Casein, this product is contraindicated in patients with Cow's Milk Protein Allergy or Galactosemia.

Keep the tin tightly closed in a cool, dry place below 25°C (do not refrigerate the dry powder, as condensation causes clumping) and consume within 2 weeks of opening.
